Study the fiqh of fasting from beginning to end by reading this original primer authored in the English language which covers the laws of fasting according to the Hanafi school. Designed in the tradition of classic primers (mutun), this manual is a comprehensive guide to the fiqh of fasting, featuring extensive footnotes, detailed explanations, and appendices on fulfilling the other key rights of the sacred month, namely, the tarawih prayers, sadaqat al-fitr, and the iʿtikaf retreat.
The purpose of this study is to learn and understand the rulings of the Sacred Law related to fasting by covering a contemporary primer of fiqh according to the Hanafi school. Please be aware that this is a detailed explanation of the rules pertaining to fasting and other rites of the sacred month, and it is not a spiritually uplifting set of seminars. Recordings will be available and posted for later review. Participants are encouraged to purchase a copy of the text here. (A digital edition of the text will not be provided)
Please note that this course has now ended and registration provides you with access to the recordings.
