‎⁨مطلع البدرين فيما يتعلق بالزوجين⁩

In this course, we will study `Abd al-Majid b. `Ali al-`Adawi’s (d. 1303/1886) excellent, short primer on spousal rights, an exposition of creed, and the laws pertaining to worship and raising a family, Matla` al-badrayn fi ma yata`allaq bi al-zawjayn. Texts with such a deliberate focus are rare, and the Cairene-Hanafi scholar, al-`Adawi, brings together many important issues and discussions into one place so that students [and spouses] may attain unto clarity and live a life of excellence and righteousness. [Ladies Only]

Description: The text shall be translated in class, and registered students will be able to access a digital version of the course text, recordings, and links to the Telegram group and discussion/question forum, and any other resources. Please note that this course is for ladies.

In addition to covering the material of the primer, we will discuss the underlying meanings of the shari`a as they pertain to the family. We shall specifically endeavour to soundly understand concepts such as marriage, custodianship, legal authority, raising children, and more, in light of the texts of the Hanafi masters.
